Chicken Fingers

I missed out on the Collis culture while at Dartmouth. I occasionally like to pass through during late night hours to pretend I'm part of the coolness.

Sophie Green looking fantastic.

I Heart (Flower) Box

It's raining in Hanover today. On gloomy days, it's always nice to hideaway inside listening to nice music, waiting for the sun to come back. Rain isn't all bad though. Without it, things like flowers, vegetables and cool grass wouldn't be possible.

Cloudy Day Walks

Maybe I'm a little too old for my age, but I love going for walks. Sunny days offer the perfect opportunity to enjoy and take in the beautiful weather. Often overlooked, however, are cloudy days. Somber and relaxing, without the harsh sun one can seemingly float from one place to another.

Carrying my camera at my hip, I snap shots of unexpecting passerbyers in hopes to capture them from a point of view unlike any other. More often then not, however, I miss my intended subject entirely and end up with countless pictures of trees, sky and buildings (which isn't always a bad thing).

Two highlights from a walk this past weekend.

Self Portrait

MySpace has seemingly provided an edict that the international youth (and those not so young) take countless self portraits to share with friends and strangers alike. A majority of these capture individual angles in order to minimize wholeness, for the collection of parts is always better than the whole. Creative shots use bathroom mirrors (and often lingerie).

I prefer reflections off glass. I find it offers a sense of natural depth.

Beautiful Girls

Beautiful girls are generally easy to shoot. They sit or stand and smile and, "Viola!" a lovely photo. Take a girl who doesn't want her picture taken and make no effort to frame her in the shot and the task becomes slightly more challenging.

Of the seven pictures I took, I thought two came are pretty nice given the circumstance.

Concept

In personal efforts to break away from my OCD and love for perfection and symmetry, I embark on this photography project where I will not use a viewfinder. Instead, I will trust instincts and luck to "point and shoot" in hopes of capturing beautiful shots. While these, like all pictures I post, are edited for exposure, color, lighting, shadows and the like, none of them are cropped and all appear in the same framing and proportions in which they were shot.

All pictures, unless otherwise noted, are taken with my Nikon D40.

I look forward to your comments and feedback.
